As I write to you tonight, J.D. is somewhere between Dayton, OH and Durham, NC. He flew out to Dayton on Thanksgiving in order to drive our new car home. What do you think? I love it, and can't wait to put the kids in it. Yes, it DOES have a "jump seat" - the backwards one in the rear!!! Got any suggestions for a name? It will be burgundy when it's all said and done!
God is so amazing how He provides for His children. Because of the rapid growth of our family, we will soon be forced out of a car which we thought we wouldn't outgrow for a really long time. Little did we know just two years later, there would not be enough room for all of us. But what a wonderful reason to be forced to up-size. Children are such a blessing, even when they are cranky and tired. Everyday I'm reminded of how precious they are and how much I love them.
We began our research the typical way...what kind of minivan do we want? After searching and searching it came down to the Honda Odyssey. Then we decided...we don't even really want a minivan nor the payments on one. So we started over at square one. The Lord has continued to grow the desire in our hearts of the importance of being good stewards of what He has allowed us to care for here on Earth. God has been faithful to provide for our needs so far, so why wouldn't He provide for us in this matter? Well He has. One day after Jonathan posted his motorcycle for sale...IT SOLD. We found this car on eBay Motors and debated and debated on whether or not to bid. So, we set a maximum price we would be willing to pay and decided that if it was the Lord's will that this car be ours, we would win. And we did!
Just got interrupted by a phone call from J.D.. He is in Bland, VA. Sounds like a fun place to be huh? Well, the car made 5 of the 8 hours of the trip with no problems, and then...as he topped a hill, it backfired and that's all she wrote for that's all she knows at this point. I'll try to keep you posted as the story of our lives unfolds.
It's quite obvious that Jonathan will not be returning home tonight, and I will miss him so. Please pray for a speedy car recovery (whatever the diagnosis might be) and that Jonathan will be home to his family soon.
Good Night to all!
Misty
