Family is so wonderful

Daddy teaching Andrew how to Fence!

What an awesome day we had today. Jonathan had the day off and all five of us played in our bed for quite a while this morning. Mommy was nursing Jacob. Elizabeth and Andrew were jumping, bouncing, flying and busy as ever paying with Daddy. I love to watch the kids interact with Jonathan, it's so precious.

After breakfast, Jonathan had to run an errand and the kids and I played around the house. When Jonathan got home we had lunch and while Daddy and Andrew took a nap, Mommy, Elizabeth, and Jacob went to the paint store and then grocery shopping. (I finally decided that if I didn't just by the silly paint, I would continue to change my mind 100 times as to the color scheme in my sewing/guest bedroom).

Daddy and Andrew left to get hair cuts only to return a few min. later with a poopy diaper (someone forgot to take a diaper bag with them!). Right after they left, the neighbor girls came over to play. This is where it gets fun and exciting. Normally they come and play for a couple of hours and then return home. Tonight was different. They played, and played, and we sewed, cooked, and cleaned...and they even were able to stay over for dinner.

As we were cooking dinner, I realized that the Lord was giving me a little glimpse into what family is all about, and what the future will hold for our family and each one persons responsibilities.

Lets just set the scene...Jacob...fussy, fussy, fussy. Elizabeth and Andrew...running around crazy like they always seem to do while Mommy is trying to cook. Because the older girls where here at the house, I was able to sit down and feed Jacob. One girl was entertaining the kids, the other was browning the meat. After I fed Jacob I cut up the avacado, and onions, only to find Jacob fussing still. I thawed out some more food for him, and had the other little girl feed Jacob some more dinner. Then she helped set the table. At one point she said, while y'all cook, I'll clean and proceeded to pick up toys around the house. While all of us girls were inside getting things prepped for dinner, Jonathan and Andrew where out grilling up the fajita meat. When it was all said and done, there was a Mexican feast on the table, and dinner for 7 people! It was so fun to see a houseful of kids and enjoy a meal cooked by a team.

I'm so thankful that the Lord allows us days in which we can rest and enjoy the beauty of His creation...FAMILY.
