God is Good!!!

What an amazing evening. As I arrived to the NICU tonight to visit Jacob I noticed that he was off the C-PAP already! Then the nurse said, that's not all...he was totally off every kind of oxygen support. After the C-PAP they use the Nasal Canula to transition babies to room air...apparently Jacob had no problem entertaining the nurses with the Canula - for all day long they would find it around his neck and in his mouth. So, needless to say he wasn't going to be using it and was breathing just fine without it so they just got rid of it.

The greatest news of all and most unexpected blessing of the evening, was I got to breastfeed him. I'm praying that he has jump started my milk production and that hopefully I'll mass produce milk for him now!

Great but unusual/confusing news...even after saying he has Pnomonia, they decided they're not so sure now and that it could be RDS after all. Apparently both pnomiania and RDS look very similar on X-Ray. Either way, he is getting antibiotics which will take care of both. If it is indeed RDS then it is quite possible that his antibiotic dosage would only need to last for 7 days instead of 14 days! So, he could come home as early as next weekend!

It is our prayer no matter what he has going on with his lungs diagnosed or not, that it would continue to heal in a timely manner and he would be able to join us at home.

P.S. According to the latest poll results...he still looks like Jonathan...well, I decided tonight I don't think he looks a bit like any of us...he is uniquely himself!
